I was paged to our cashier area to authorize a loaner last night when I met one of our customers in need of wheels during his MDX repair. It's actually one of many enjoyable duties of my job. Saying "YES" allowing our customers the use of a loaner is definitely a stress reducer for them.
Exactly what this owner needed.
You see, the MDX I mentioned, was actually his wife's. While she was out of town on business, he decided to drive her perfect condition, great running MDX which ended it's day here. His car meanwhile back home, in the garage.
This sounds like a Jay Leno joke. Imagine for a minute how he would begin explaning this scenario to her. He wasn't too obvious when he encouraged me to have our service dept contact him first thing the next morning with a diagnosis and repair plan. And, of course that's exactly what happened.
In the end, a new battery saved the day and our owner left tonight smiling.
I wonder if he'll tell her. Would you?
